New Job Search and Jobs Alert on AFNP !

Our AFNP website has new job search functionality and options! You can now search for jobs by keyword and location. Go to our NP JOB STOP  Tab and select search jobs/resumes. Also we are happy to announce there is a new section where you can sign up for job alerts to your e-mail inbox for the type of job or career you want.

Here are a few job searching tips to consider if you are looking to change jobs or just starting out as a new grad Nurse Practitioner.

  1. Network, network, network. Making connections and building relationships are far more valuable than a resume sitting in front of someone who does not know you at all. Join your local and national professional organizations such the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Create and or update your linked profile. Become a volunteer and active in your community.
  2. Write a great resume and post it on job boards and sites.  “RESUME AND CV WRITING COMMANDMENTS : DO’S AND DON’TS”
  3. Consider applying for residencies or fellowships. Many programs may offer you positions when you complete the program if you are the right fit, and the networking and connections you make will pay off as well when you are ready to find your dream position. Linked here is a list of Residencies/Fellowships you can browse through for ideas.
  4. Finally make sure you do your homework on potential employers,  find the right fit for you and stay positive during your search!
